RELEASE

14 Sep

“And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hands.” 1 Samuel 17:47 KJV

Rise up my bride, soil not your gown.

Release the sword from your delicate fingers.

Rest in peace as I stand guard.

Your war is finished, the battle finally won.

Now the chamber waits with sweet fragrances

Of sanctioned prayers,

Washed clean with bottled tears.

Step up with me,

Safe within my arms,

In the place you never doubted would come.

Today we stand as one,

Faith upon Faith,

Truth within Truth,

Life into Eternity.

GRACE

12 Apr

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.”    Psalm 84:11

Ever so gently, the Spirit comes,

gently calling, gently waking,

the sleeping soul.

Awake, Beloved, Arise,

join with me in sweet refreshing,

precious moments, you and I.”

And though I try,

to fight the weariness,

I fall again,

to senseless sleep..

Awake, Beloved, Arise,

rest in the peace only I can give.”

My soul rocks,

battered by my own strengths,

by my own weaknesses.

The angels of light,

war with the angels of darkness,

fighting for the rights,

to my blessing.

Again I try to rise,

“Grace” – “Grace”

for spiritual strength,

to fight the demons,

that take their positions,

to stop the Rhema,

about to birth.

“Grace” – “Grace”

And with my cry,

a change begins,

a pounding pulse,

a surge of fire,

a rising up,

to the Spirit of truth.

In sweet communion,

with the one true Lord,

all weariness passes.

Refreshing of Spirit,

refreshing of soul,

no weakened limb,

just tender moments,

in anointed splendor.

Arise, My Beloved,

and receive the gift,

I’ve so longed,

for you to have.

GRACE!

FORGIVENESS

5 Apr

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: Matthew 6:14

There’s a fire deep inside,

That spreads,

That dwindles,

That spreads.

No one else can see it,

No one else can feel it,

But it eats like a canker,

Into my peace.

Someone set the fuel in place,

Another provided the spark,

But I set the flame,

I keep it alive.

It isn’t a warming thing,

Based on love,

Although it replaced love,

A long time ago.

It is a burning thing,

Based on hate,

I can’t let go of,

I won’t let go.

And though I know,

Others can sense it,

Others shy from it,

I am the only one,

Who truly suffers.

As much as I want,

To be free of this sin,

It beckons me back,

It calls me friend.

It keeps me from growth,

It harnesses my joy,

It alters my path,

It chains me to me.

Lord, help me forgive,

The pains of the past,

That I might have freedom,

To live.

MY PRECIOUS FATHER

22 Dec

“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of.” Isaiah 61:3

I have a precious Father,

Who is always there for me.

Not one minute of the day goes by,

When I can’t see Him and all He’s done.

A Father whose lap I can nestle in,

When I’m feeling tired or overwhelmed;

Where I can grieve and mourn,

And feel peace as His strong arms,

Shroud me with His Glory.

I have a precious Father,

Who never leaves my side.

He provides the joy in my happiness,

He provides the strength in my sadness.

He gives me the freedom of decisions,

And the mercy of forgiveness,

When my decisions are poor.

I have a precious Father,

Who provides the sunlight of my mornings,

A cool breeze in the heat of the day,

And the brightness of silvery stars in a blackened night.

My Father paints the sky,

With the rise and set of the sun,

And dances the clouds about,

For my pleasure.

I have a precious Father,

Who holds the wealth of Kings,

In the palm of His hand.

Who lifts the broken out of poverty,

Lays waste the Kingdoms of the unrighteousness.

And in all His greatness and majesty,

My precious Father,

Never forgets me,

Never sets me aside,

Never leaves me for a moment,

Even in times when I am less than thoughtful.

A precious Father that will remain with me,

All the days of my life,

Even though I choose,

To walk away from Him.

I have a precious Father,

Who will grant me the wisdom,

And bless me with the anointing,

To remain in His will,

Protecting His legacy,

In my meager way,

Always remembering,

That I have a precious Father.

KNEEL WITH US

22 Dec

O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.” Psalm 95:6

As we come to You,

We seek the truth,

Our open hearts we give.

We lift our hands,

And take a stand,

in righteousness to live.

Help us speak for You,

In all we do,

Your words of peace we share.

Please hold us near,

And calm our fears,

And kneel with us in prayer.

Lord, we teach Your word,

Your truths are heard,

We walk in love and faith.

We share Your ways,

For strength we pray,

We’ve learned to kneel and wait.

Keep us in Your will,

Our own thoughts stilled,

Our old ways changed to new.

Please keep us close,

At any cost,

Our mind on only You.

 Lord, we lift our hands,

In love we stand,

A shout of faith we raise.

We reach to You,

Your touch renews,

Our words are songs of praise.

Seeking to be filled,

To know Your will,

Fills every waking hour.

Please touch our souls,

And let us know,

Your mercy, strength and power.

Only By Faith

24 Nov

And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace. Luke 7:50

By faith stood Abraham,

in the promise of Isaac.

By grace it came to pass.

overcoming natural life,

birthing a child,

in a lonely golden year.

Faith took the promise,

and blew life into lifelessness.

Faith saw Isaac as the sown seed,

laughter come at last,

then grace matured it,

multiplying it.

Fourteen generations flowed,

from Abraham to David,

through Jacob and Obed,

and Jesse.

Fourteen generations flowed from David,

until the carrying away into Babylon,

through Solomon,

through Manasses,

through Josias.

Then fourteen more flowed,

from Babylon to Christ,

the Word manifest in flesh,

the Keeper of eternity.

Through Achim,

Eleazar to Jacob,

the father of Joseph,

the husband of Mary,

the mother of Christ.

By faith did Mary accept the promise,

that grew within her womb.

By faith did Joseph accept Mary,

heavy with child,

not of his loins,

not of his love.

By grace they stood as one,

on a destined night,

the sky brightened,

by the Glory of God,

in the shape of a star,

pointing down to the Son.

By faith Joseph took Jesus,

adopted now,

into the lineage of Abraham,

adopted now,

as a child of promise.

By grace Joseph watched,

as He grew to a man,

well before His years.

Our perfect pattern,

our Shepherd and King.

Now, by faith, we trust in His Word,

our heritage blessed by driven saints,

and tarnished by those who did evil,

in the sight of the Lord.

By faith are we accepted,

are we adopted,

into His kingdom,

joint-heirs with Christ,

children of promise,

just as He did,

so long ago.

By grace will we walk,

in His footsteps,

as best as we are able,

crying out for strength,

for peace, for love.

By faith we receive all,

grace has promised,

and more,

for only by our limited faith,

can we see into,

God’s limitless plan.

INTIMATE

24 Nov

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.   Psalm 91:1

Through tender sighs of angel’s breath,

I speak to you, my Lord.

You listen intently for my desires,

Protect me from the harsh world around me.

With tongues of praise I call to you,

The faintest sigh you caress.

A love song, flowing tenderly forth, is held,

Oh so gently, in your mighty arms;

Then returned to me in a River of Peace,

Intimately shared, eternally kept.

THE LOST

23 Nov

“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”   Luke 19:10

The road before me seems narrow and unending,

Fear stands before me,

Regret trails behind,

Why must I travel this path?

To the right are green pastures,

To the left are mansions of gold,

Yet my feet won’t veer,

Destiny pulls firmly,

Is this the path I walk for me,

Or do I walk for another?

Fatigue drains the strength from my bones,

I thirst,

The green pastures call to my desires,

“Rest and Drink,”

Forward I walk, determined.

Mansions of gold call my name,

Fulfilled dreams, riches,

Reason fights the Spirit,

Think what I could do with all these,

What lives I could touch,

Forward I walk – steady.

Those who call me loved bite angrily at my sides,

Bitter words echo in my mind,

Must love hurt,

Throbbing starts in my palms,

In my feet.

Who must I walk this path for?

Is it for You?

Is it for me?

Is it for lives yet to be touched?

Forward, Lord, place Your hand in mine,

Let me walk in Your footsteps,

Let me see Your path,

Let me lay aside my selfish dreams,

So that I may reach the broken soul,

That sits at the side of the path,

That You have sent me to travel.

Anoint me, Lord,

With wisdom, with love, with peace,

That I may overcome the burden,

That You have placed in my life,

To reach the lost – for You.

GENTLE SPIRIT

19 Nov

But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: Acts 9:15

Oh, Jesus,

work through this vessel.

Spread peace through this church,

settle your children.

Precious Jesus,

precious Jesus.

Close you eyes church,

listen with your spirits,

listen with your souls.

Do you hear it?

Do you feel it?

Gentle Spirit blow.

Feel the cool breeze,

flowing between the saints.

Feel the billow of His robe

caressing you cheek as He passes by.

Reach out to Him,

reach out.

He hesitates a moment,

He turns and touches the tips

of Your outstretched fingers.

Only a moment,

the gentlest touch.

What Heaven.

What joy.

What peace.

Blow, gentle Spirit.

Touch your children.

Precious Jesus,

precious Jesus.

GENTLE

19 Nov

“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”  Mark 4:39

The Holy Spirit, what delightful sensations.

Like standing enveloped in a dense morning fog, the sound of the world is nearby, but the cool, moist blanket keeps you at peace and detached.

Like being snuggled inside a warm woolen blanket; covered head to toe.

Protected from the sharp bitter cold; warmly – softly held.

Like floating in a cool river on a dry, warm day.  The harsh, sharp noises filtered and replaced by the sound of rushing water.

And yet, like electricity surging from every point in your body, shooting to the center and then out through the top.

Sending you boldly, without fear, to complete the task at hand.

Oh, Holy Spirit. Gentle us today.
