WHEN

17 Sep

โ€œBut Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.โ€ Luke 18:16-17 KJV

๐Ÿ’–

The Lord keeps showing me, over and over,

images of the little child that rests inside each angry man.

๐Ÿ’–

The baby who first discovered his fingers and toes,

or laughed with glee upon his first sighting of a butterfly.

๐Ÿ’–

The little boy who wiggled through his first haircut,

he was so proud.

๐Ÿ’–

The little boy who brought home weed-flowers

for his mom to put in a vase.

๐Ÿ’–

The cut-out crooked hearts

with โ€œI love you, daddyโ€ scribbled across.

๐Ÿ’–

The little boy who wanted to be a policeman,

a fireman or the President.

๐Ÿ’–

The little boy who learned to ride a bike

and could almost keep up with dad.

๐Ÿ’–

The little boy who chewed wild grass

and dreamt of flying a rocket to the moon.

๐Ÿ’–

The little boy who made a 100% on his spelling test,

but couldnโ€™t quite figure out math.

๐Ÿ’–

When did he turn into an angry young man,

bitter, distant and lost.

๐Ÿ’–

When did friends become more precious than family,

no matter when, no matter where.

๐Ÿ’–

When did Christmas cookies turn to alcohol,

Mother Goose to pornography.

๐Ÿ’–

When did alcohol turn to drugs;

to live for, to kill for, to die for.

๐Ÿ’–

When did skateboards turn to drive-by shootings,

picnics to funerals, love to hate.

๐Ÿ’–

When did he become an angry young man,

falling deeper and deeper into sin, into death, into Hell.

๐Ÿ’–

If you look close enough you can see that little boy,

through the dazed eyes of drugs.

๐Ÿ’–

If you listen carefully you can hear that little boy crying out for help,

for peace, for love.

๐Ÿ’–

If you hug him long enough you will feel the shield and barriers fall away

– long enough for him to know someone cares.

๐Ÿ’–

And if you walk with him long enough you can guide him along the path

to find that little boy again.

๐Ÿ’–

REVOLUTION

16 Sep

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:ย (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)ย  ย 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 KJV

โœ

Firmly we stand,

with pure hearts,

and cleansed souls,

fire coursing through our veins,

exuding the power,

of the anointing within.

โœ

Are you ready for a Revolution?

โœ

At battle status,

with sword and shield,

we take our positions,

as warring spirits,

in the battle ground,

for man’s soul.

โœ

The army of God,

is cleansing a path,

for the graceful steps,

of the Bride of Christ.

โœ

No enemy can draw near,

no dart can reach its mark,

for the strength of David,

the wisdom of Deborah,

and the faith of John,

take authority,

over all principalities,

and powers of darkness.

โœ

Stand up, child of God,

renew your mind,

take your place,

as a Christian heir,

in the righteous army,

called to demand peace,

at all costs.

โœ

REVOLUTION!!

HOLD US CLOSE

12 Apr

“And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?โ€ ย Luke 24:32

ย

We come to you, Oh, Lord,

Our hearts we open wide,

Sweet angels guide us home,

Through prayer we’re safe inside.

Keep hunger in our souls,

Sweet fillings every day,

We’ll gently teach your Word,

And live you ways.

Please hold us close, Oh, Lord,

The way is dark and steep,

We comfort in Your love,

With joy we weep.

Please walk with us, Oh Lord,

You’ve sent us to the world;

Their lives are dark and lost,

We’re here to stop their hurt.

Put mercy in our souls,

Your perfect love we seek;

For danger stands nearby,

Each time we speak.

We represent Your truths,

Our Joy must never dim;

That all may want to know,

The peace within.

ย

We drink Your word, Oh Lord,

Our hearts and souls are filled.

Your teachings guide our steps,

Our fears and hurts are stilled.

We come in daily prayer,

Our vigils never cease.

We gladly intercede,

To bring our brothers peace.

Please guide each step, Oh Lord,

To keep our witness true,

Your Spirit lights our path,

Each faithful step renews.

FORGIVENESS

5 Apr

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: Matthew 6:14

Thereโ€™s a fire deep inside,

That spreads,

That dwindles,

That spreads.

No one else can see it,

No one else can feel it,

But it eats like a canker,

Into my peace.

Someone set the fuel in place,

Another provided the spark,

But I set the flame,

I keep it alive.

It isnโ€™t a warming thing,

Based on love,

Although it replaced love,

A long time ago.

It is a burning thing,

Based on hate,

I canโ€™t let go of,

I wonโ€™t let go.

And though I know,

Others can sense it,

Others shy from it,

I am the only one,

Who truly suffers.

As much as I want,

To be free of this sin,

It beckons me back,

It calls me friend.

It keeps me from growth,

It harnesses my joy,

It alters my path,

It chains me to me.

Lord, help me forgive,

The pains of the past,

That I might have freedom,

To live.

THE LOST

23 Nov

“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”ย  ย Luke 19:10

The road before me seems narrow and unending,

Fear stands before me,

Regret trails behind,

Why must I travel this path?

To the right are green pastures,

To the left are mansions of gold,

Yet my feet wonโ€™t veer,

Destiny pulls firmly,

Is this the path I walk for me,

Or do I walk for another?

Fatigue drains the strength from my bones,

I thirst,

The green pastures call to my desires,

โ€œRest and Drink,โ€

Forward I walk, determined.

Mansions of gold call my name,

Fulfilled dreams, riches,

Reason fights the Spirit,

Think what I could do with all these,

What lives I could touch,

Forward I walk โ€“ steady.

Those who call me loved bite angrily at my sides,

Bitter words echo in my mind,

Must love hurt,

Throbbing starts in my palms,

In my feet.

Who must I walk this path for?

Is it for You?

Is it for me?

Is it for lives yet to be touched?

Forward, Lord, place Your hand in mine,

Let me walk in Your footsteps,

Let me see Your path,

Let me lay aside my selfish dreams,

So that I may reach the broken soul,

That sits at the side of the path,

That You have sent me to travel.

Anoint me, Lord,

With wisdom, with love, with peace,

That I may overcome the burden,

That You have placed in my life,

To reach the lost โ€“ for You.

YOU’RE THERE

23 Sep

And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before theย Lord. And, behold, theย Lordย passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before theย Lord; but theย Lordย was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but theย Lord was not in the earthquake: ย And after the earthquake a fire; but theย Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.ย  ย 1 Kings 19:11-12ย (KJV)

I can't hear You, Lord,

I can't hear You today.

Just a quiet whispering;

A rustling.

There was a day when we walked together,

Talked together,

Closest friends.

Your words were loud and sure,

I knew Your will,

No doubt which path to take.

But I can't hear You, Lord,

I can't hear You today.

There were joyful times,

Times of tears,

Times of intercession,

And deepest prayers.

I felt You then,

You heard my cries and held me tight.

But I can't hear You, Lord,

I can't hear You today.

Somewhere I fell faint,

Neglected to listen,

Perhaps I disobeyed.

Or is this a testing time,

To see if I will remain,

Even in Your silence.

How will I know, Lord,

I can't hear You today.

I'll go on, as You've taught me,

I'll overcome,

Walk in joy,

Sing Your praises,

Again and again.

And when You've finished,

Testing and trying,

Pruning and purging,

Loving and lifting,

I will know.

Even in silence You are there,

Even in darkness You are there,

Even in diligent unanswered prayer,

You are there.

In Your word,

And in the hearts of Your children.
