FORGIVENESS

5 Apr

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: Matthew 6:14

There’s a fire deep inside,

That spreads,

That dwindles,

That spreads.

No one else can see it,

No one else can feel it,

But it eats like a canker,

Into my peace.

Someone set the fuel in place,

Another provided the spark,

But I set the flame,

I keep it alive.

It isn’t a warming thing,

Based on love,

Although it replaced love,

A long time ago.

It is a burning thing,

Based on hate,

I can’t let go of,

I won’t let go.

And though I know,

Others can sense it,

Others shy from it,

I am the only one,

Who truly suffers.

As much as I want,

To be free of this sin,

It beckons me back,

It calls me friend.

It keeps me from growth,

It harnesses my joy,

It alters my path,

It chains me to me.

Lord, help me forgive,

The pains of the past,

That I might have freedom,

To live.

PURE GOLD

22 Oct

And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It [is] my people: and they shall say, The LORD [is] my God.   Zechariah 13:9

I can see you little children,

I can see the tenderness within.

I see the pain with which you shield it,

Open up and let Me in.

Let Me strip away the torments,

Let Me free the child inside.

Let Me open what’s within you,

I’ll show you why, for you, I died.

If you could only see with My eyes,

Could see the crown and jewels you hold.

If you could only love with My heart,

You’d know that you’re pure gold.

. . . .Pure Gold . . . . PURE GOLD.

Troubled Water

23 Sep

(4) For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. (7) The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.   John 5:4&7

I can feel it -

 the shaking,

 the stirring,

 inside.

The angels

 have troubled the water,

 deep within me.

Who will help me,

 draw close to the pool,

 where pure love,

 can heal?

Where the Glory of God,

 lights the dark recesses

 of doubt.

If I move quickly,

 toward the call of God,

 the desperate corners,

 I find to hide in,

 will be purged and cleansed,

 and my Spirit,

 will be set free,

 to soar above the circumstances,

 my soul calls hopeless.

Who will take the chance,

 of entering into my world,

 and carry me down,

 to the healing pool,

 where Spirit and soul,

 come together?

Who will lay their life open,

to care - to hurt - to lift?

Could it be you?
