You Covered Me

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV

God, this season has been the most difficult season of my life, But You covered me.

When scripture verses made no sense and chapters were just blurred words on a page, You reminded me that they never change, are never returned void, are always “Yes” and “Amen.”

When I searched for answers, only to find confusion and frustration, You sent me the right words through the voice of another.

When the weakness and fatigue overwhelmed me and all I could do was sleep or rest in my chair, I felt Your strong arms as You held me.

When loneliness started to creep in and I wondered what I had done to cause You to abandon me, You showed me that You were right there with me, every moment of every day.

When the illness made me doubt my faith, and all I know to be true, You wiped my tears and held me closer.

As I get stronger I can see the many miracles you provided along this journey, I am so grateful.

How do I thank a mighty God who holds a universe in His hands and knows the needs of every falling sparrow? By being an instrument of Your love. Knowing that You will always be there, Covering Me.

WHAT IF HE . . .

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:19  KJV

What if He hadn’t done it that day,

Fashioned our lives with compassion and clay.

💕

What if the Garden had soon been destroyed,

Because of man’s sin against God, there deployed.

💕

What if He hadn’t called Noah to build,

If He’d thought it easier if all had been killed.

💕

What if He hadn’t called Moses to lead,

Had left wayward people to tend Pharaoh’s needs.

💕

What if He hadn’t sent Manna for food,

But waited ‘til man proved righteous and good.

💕

What if He hadn’t sent Giants to flight,

If He hadn’t called David to stand up and fight.

💕

What if He hadn’t sent Joshua to scout,

If all those who went said there was no way out.

💕

What if He hadn’t sent people to pray,

Provide for the Prophets, to open the way.

💕

What if He hadn’t sent Jesus to die,

Then where, in God’s world, would stand you and I.

💕

What if He hadn’t resurrected that day,

Come back to earth to show us the way.

💕

And what if He hadn’t called you and I,

But left us to sin, to shame and to die.

💕

But He didn’t leave us, Never will the Word reads.

He stands right beside us, And provides all our needs.

COMPOUND BLESSINGS

Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

 

I hold a blessing,

In my hand,

It’s real,

And sound,

And beautiful.

 

I could keep the blessing,

And treasure it’s virtue.

When it’s done,

I will hold the memory,

Like a sweet fragrance.

 

I could release the blessing,

And let it fall into the hands,

Of someone near,

Someone who may recognize,

It’s treasure,

Or may see it,

With abandon.

 

Or I could receive it,

And give it to you,

A perfect gift,

Nothing lacking,

Into the hand,

Of one who needs,

The very fragrance,

It unlocks.

 

If I keep it,

It will fade with age,

Beautifully and gracefully,

Evaporating.

 

If I let it loose,

It may become a blessing,

Or may die a sudden death,

Unappreciated and alone.

 

But if I give it to you,

Into the hand it was meant to go,

Then I too will share the blessing,

By watching you,

Enjoying the perfect purpose,

For what it was send to do.

 

I give it now,

To you.

Abundance

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken , nor his seed begging bread. Psalm 37:25 KJV

I’m sitting here at 3 O’clock in the morning, wrapped in a blanket and my big heavy jacket.  It’s 10 degrees out, the full moon is reflecting off of the snow and lighting the house.  So beautiful.

I checked a few emails and saw posts from an online website where you can give and receive items for free.  People are requesting blankets.  People are requesting warm clothing for their children.  People are requesting wood to warm their homes.  I felt so helpless reading these.

We have gone through dramatic changes this year, losing our home, leaving much of our possessions behind, leaving friends and family behind as we moved across the state for work – but God always provided. We never went without food. We were never cold or without proper clothing. We always had a place to stay and a warm bed to sleep in.

For a while we had things to give; sheets, blankets, and comforters; but now we only have what we need.  I offer up my prayer that someone will provide for these needs as God has always provided for ours.  I pray for their salvation and relationship with God, that they will realize the same security that we feel.  I pray for their peace, a peace that can only be felt through the Father.

God, help me to always realize that in my helplessness to meet people’s immediate physical needs, that I always have the ability to call on you to provide for all of their needs; physical, mental and spiritual, and in my lack, You will provide their abundance.
